Role mission

Generate qualified opportunities and help Ora Group acquire its first paying customers. You will open doors, build relationships, coordinate demonstrations, follow up with prospects, and make sure no opportunity is ever lost because of poor execution.

Key responsibilities

Growth ownership

  • Own Ora Group's commercial growth by building and managing a predictable pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Identify, qualify, and prioritise high-potential customers across the coffee value chain.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasts, and commercial reporting to the Founder.

Outreach and pipeline

  • Conduct outbound outreach through phone, email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and in-person visits where appropriate.
  • Coordinate and prepare product demonstrations so that every prospect receives a professional, well-prepared experience.
  • Prepare customer briefs before meetings.
  • Coordinate proposals, quotations, and commercial documentation.

Relationships and partnerships

  • Build relationships with exporters, processors, cooperatives, traders, and industry stakeholders.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that expand Ora Group's commercial reach and market presence.
  • Represent Ora Group with professionalism, integrity, and a deep understanding of the company's long-term vision.

Market intelligence and customers

  • Gather customer feedback, market intelligence, and competitive insights that sharpen Ora's products and commercial strategy.
  • Support onboarding and implementation after a deal closes, so that early customers succeed with the product.
  • Work closely with the Founder to continuously improve the sales process and customer experience.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Economics, Information Systems, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, account management, partnerships, banking, consulting, or enterprise services.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Coffee industry or agribusiness
  • SaaS, fintech, logistics, or enterprise software
  • An existing professional network in Uganda's business community
  • Experience using CRM systems
  • Valid driving permit (an added advantage)

Experience

1 to 3 years in business development, B2B sales, account management, partnerships, banking, consulting, or enterprise services.

  • A healthy pipeline of qualified prospects has been established.
  • Product demonstrations run consistently, with well-prepared prospects.
  • You have contributed directly to Ora Group securing its first paying customers.
  • A repeatable commercial process has been documented.
  • Strong relationships exist across Uganda's coffee industry.
  • Customer feedback has directly influenced product improvements.
